new beginnings

and new endings

never going to stop

this old world keeps on turning

even if you hop on pop

bittersweet turns out to be gold

with eyes that look like mine

so at least with forward motion

i will pass the time

sleepy, cranky, mad as hell

shaking fists at circumstance

as one day flows into the next

maybe this will pass

blessings galore, talent and brains

maybe she won't be like me

no dour faces, and in her own places

she will fly high and free
